Investment Profile
The major investment of Sinendet Tea Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd is in agriculture, specifically tea farming. The Society owns a total of 372.83 hectares of tea plantations spread across Tentwet, Saosa, and Cheronget/Maramara farms. These estates were acquired from the Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation in 1995 and have since remained the backbone of the Society’s agricultural enterprise. The tea farms not only provide a sustainable source of income but also contribute significantly to employment creation, community development, and the overall economic growth of the region. Through modern farming practices and responsible land stewardship, the Society ensures that its tea plantations remain productive, environmentally sustainable, and central to its long-term investment strategy.
Beyond agriculture, the Society has diversified its investments into real estate and financial assets. A landmark project under this diversification is Sinendet Towers, an iconic ultra-modern 9-storey commercial building located at the heart of Kericho Town. The building boasts modern design, prime accessibility along the Kisumu–Nakuru Highway, 24/7 security, CCTV surveillance, reliable power backup, a functional lift, and ample parking. Currently 90% occupied, Sinendet Towers provides the Society with a steady stream of rental income while positioning it as a key player in the regional commercial property sector.
In addition, the Society holds shares in Mau Tea Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Kipsigis Highlands Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Safaricom, KUSSCO, and other enterprises. This strategic diversification has strengthened financial stability, broadened revenue streams, and enhanced resilience against market fluctuations.
As a result of these strategic agricultural, commercial, and financial investments, Sinendet Tea Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd has earned recognition as one of the best investment cooperative societies in the region.
